BELSIL® eco: Sustainable silicones designed for personal care


BELSIL® eco from WACKER is the first silicone line developed specifically for personal care with sustainability built in from the start. By using renewable raw materials in the value chain, BELSIL® eco helps brands meet sustainability goals without compromising quality or performance.

How it works

Like all BELSIL® grades, production begins with pure silicon derived from quartz. Traditional silicones are produced by combining this silicon with fossil-based methanol.

BELSIL® eco replaces fossil methanol with plant-based biomethanol sourced from renewable plant residues such as straw, wheat, grass, sugar beets and other agricultural by-products. This approach creates a more environmentally responsible silicone material while maintaining the same performance characteristics as conventional BELSIL® grades.
